M&E Design Engineer (Manager level)

Job Description

1.  Equipment Design & Modeling

• Designing electrical, HVAC, and plumbing/sanitary equipment in accordance with Japanese design standards (JIS, Building Standards Act, etc.)

• High-precision modeling and drawing creation using 2D CAD and BIM tools (Revit, Rebro, etc.)

2.  Technical Review & Calculations

• Engineering work including load calculations, illuminance calculations, and piping/duct sizing

• Confirming consistency with, and making corrections in response to, markups (red-line corrections) from the Japan-side team

3.  Quality Management (QA)

• Self-checking prior to delivery and technical review of drawings created by junior operators

• Maintaining the “Japan quality” standard required by our Japanese clients

Requirements

◆   Must-Have

• Education: Vocational school or junior college graduate or above (a background in architecture or engineering preferred)

• Japanese: Conversational level or above (equivalent to JLPT N3)

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on work in M&E (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection) equipment design (experience in the construction industry based on Japanese design standards)

• Proficiency with specialized CAD software (AutoCAD, 3D CAD, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with design and modeling using BIM (Jw_cad, T-fas, Rebro, Revit, etc.)

• Able to comfortably produce materials and reports using Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint, etc.)

◆   Nice-to-Have

• Hands-on experience at a Japanese-affiliated company in M&E design, or direct communication and review experience with counterparts in Japan

• Work experience in M&E design in Japan

• Experience mentoring junior members or building QA processes

• Beyond general staff-level experience, demonstrated leadership ability and management experience needed to lead a team as a future leader candidate

• Growth mindset: motivated to become a “highly skilled engineer” capable of design proposals and consulting, not just a “drafting operator”

• Sense of responsibility: able to maintain an 80% utilization rate and take strong ownership of deadlines and quality (“Japan quality”)

• Flexibility: willing to proactively engage in standardizing operations and building processes at a newly launched site

• Leadership: able to serve as a role model for junior members and inspire the team as we expand toward a 50-person organization
  

Benefits

• Work Location: 90 Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh, Phường 22, Bình Thạnh, HCMC

• Working Hours: Monday–Friday: Flexible hours (e.g., 8:00–17:00 / 9:00–18:00), Saturday: Every other week (remote work)

• Days Off: Sundays, Saturdays (every other week), year-end/New Year holidays, Vietnamese public holidays, Tet holiday

• Annual Paid Leave: In accordance with Vietnamese labor law

• Probation Period: 60 days (100% of salary paid)

• Salary: 30,000,000–50,000,000 VND (gross/month, including all allowances)

• Salary Review: Once a year (January), with regular raises based on company and individual performance

• Bonus: Paid based on company and individual performance

• Social Insurance: After the probation period, enrolled in social insurance, health insurance, and labor accident insurance together with the formal contract (in accordance with Vietnamese labor law)

• Other Allowances: Vietnam: meal allowance, commuting allowance, communication allowance, Japanese language qualification allowance, etc.; Japan (if seconded): housing allowance, home leave travel costs, commuting allowance, meal allowance, etc.
